Someone once said, “Everything rises or falls on leadership…” Clearly, at Mount Olive we take that seriously. Our church is blessed to have the following team of leaders to help Pastor guide the congregation in the direction that God has ordained.

 Chair of Trustees

Sis. Ruthie Pargo, Chair of Trustees, gives leadership to our Trustee Board. Sis. Pargo works closely with Pastor Clater to ensure that the vision of Mount Olive is implemented with financial integrity. Through Sis. Pargo’s leadership, the church has undertaken a complete renovation effort. We have upgraded our church infrastructure and improved the overall aesthetic quality of our sanctuary and fellowship hall.

Sis. Denise Gatewood, Financial Recording Secretary, is a registered accountant and handles the book-keeping for Mount Olive Baptist Church. She is faithful member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and has continuously worshipped with us since her youth. Her children and husband also are members of our church.

Music Ministry

Praise and WorshipSis. DeShun Dunn serves as our Choir President. The Music Ministry of Mount Olive is blessed to have many outstanding voices in our choirs. In the past, our Senior Choir has performed at the San Diego County Fair for Gospel Night and sung for various special services throughout the city.

Today, our choir continues to be a blessing to our congregation with a mixture of both uptempo spiritual songs and traditional hymns to satisfy the soul.

Our Senior Choir is led under the direction of Sis. Barbara Dunn who serves as our Choir Director and Worship Leader. We are blessed to have Bro. Earl Vaults (saxophonist) and Bro. Michael Parker (percussionist) giving our choir musical accompaniment.

Children and Youth Ministry Leaders

Mother and Son Reading Bible TogetherWe offer Bible classes on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall where the children and youth can be divided up into age-appropriate classes.

If you visiting our church on Wednesday evenings, bring your children to our Church School classes. Our Bible lessons are designed to equip our children and empower our youth to become young ambassadors for Christ. Our students are encouraged to develop a deeper appreciation for the Word of God. Reading the Bible aloud, crossword puzzles, and other group activities encourage our children to explore the wonders of God through song, mime, and even dance. Contact the Church at (619) 239-0689 for more information regarding our times and activities.
