Scripture: Psalm 121
by Pastor Brian Clater
We all need help when times are tough. Oftentimes, it seems as though trouble comes looking for the us. This psalm speaks of the dangers of life and of the help that the Lord can provide for us. Let’s examine this psalm in order to determine how we can find help in troubled times.
Main Point of the Message:
The Good News is that the Lord cares for you. He will never leave you of forsake you. The Bible reminds us in I Peter 5:7, “…cast all of your cares upon Him for He cares for you…”
Psalm 121 is one one of many psalms that worshippers would recite on their way to worship the Lord at the Temple in Jerusalem. Biblical historians tell us that Psalm 121 is not a declaration of hope, but rather it is a cry of despair. The psalmist is not looking to the hills for help, but rather he is looking for divine intervention (Psalm 121:1).
What lessons can we learn from the psalmist about trusting in the Lord?
