Scripture: II Kings 7:3-9

by Pastor Brian Clater

We serve an awesome God. He is not limited by our situations or constrained by our circumstances. Many times we allow our circumstances to define our faith. Our text shows us that we can depend on the Lord to lead us and guide through the untested paths of life. The Bible says that four men have reached the end of their rope and have decided to give the very existence to the hand of fate. But in spite of their decision, these four men are actually walking right into the hand of God who will show them mercy, kindness and deliverance.

Main Point of the Message:

Learn to stay with the Lord. He will make a way for you when you need Him the most. The Lord has abundant grace and boundless mercy. The Bible says, Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart. (See Psalm 37:4-5).

Biblical Context:

The Bible says that there was a problem in the land of Israel that seige on thetested the people’s faith in the Lord – the Syria army had laid  city of Samaria in northern Israel. As a result, there was a severe famine inside the city gates because the people of God were without the basic necessities of life. But four men, who were lepers, decided to go further in their faithwalk with the Lord. They decided to approach the enemy’s base camp to ask for food and clothing. But, when the four men arrived at the Syria army camp they discovered that unusual events had taken place.

Key Questions:

What did these four leprous men experience as they walked with the Lord?

Points of the Sermon:

1. Their D_____________   (See II Kings 7:3-6)

2. Their D_____________  (See II Kings 7:8)

3. Their D_____________  (See II Kings 7:9)
